At the March 16, 2005, Board of County Commissioner's meeting the Board granted
approval and authorized execution of an Extension of Contract for Law Enforcement and Security
Services at Key West International Airport between Monroe County and the Monroe County
Sheriff's Office, extending the Contract from October 1, 2004 through March 31, 2005. A longer
term Contract will be presented to the Board after further discussions.

EXTENSION OF CONTRACT FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT AND
SECURITY SERVICES AT KEY WEST INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Monroe County Sheriff's Office and Monroe County Board of County Commissioners
THIS EXTENSION OF CONTRACT is entered into by and between the Monroe County
Sheriff's Office (hereinafter referred to as "MCSO" or the "Sheriff") and the Board of County
Commissioners of Monroe County (hereinafter referred to as the "County") on the
16th day of March ,2005.
I-PURPOSE: On September 20,2000, the Board of County Commissioners and Monroe County
Sheriff's Office entered into a contract for the Sheriff to provide law enforcement and security
service at Key West International Airport. That contract expired by its tenns on September 30,
2004. This contract extension covers the time between contract expiration and March 31, 2005, to
permit the further contract negotiation.
2-EXTENSION OF CONTRACT: The Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida, and Richard D. Roth, Sheriff of Monroe County, Florida, agree that the Contract for Law
Enforcement and Security Services at Key West International Airport entered into by them on
September 20, 2000, be and hereby is extended for the period October 1, 2004 to March 31, 2005.
2-SCOPE OF SERVICES: The staffing levels previously specified in the contract have been
increased at the request of the BOCC because of new requirements of the F ederal Aviation
Administration and the Transportation Security Agency. Current staffing is described on the
attached Exhibit A. The BOCC will continue to reimburse the Sheriff for the actual cost providing
services at current staffing levels.
