AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Discussion of participation in a Career Education program
through Monroe County Schools for a two-year pre-apprenticeship program.
ITEM BACKGROUND: Local government agencies and businesses have been meeting with the
Coordinator for Career Education for Monroe County Schools about a two-year program
wherein we pair juniors and seniors in a pre-apprentice program to train students to enter the
workforce upon their graduation from MonroeCounty High Schools. It would be
approximately two students for 12 hours a week during the school year. They would be paid
$7.00 per hour elevating over the course of the training to $8.50 per hour.
