RESOLUTION NO. 216 -1991
A RESOLUTION OF THE MONROE COUNTY BOARD OF
COMMISSIONERS AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF
A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE U.S.ENVIRONMENTAL
PROTECTION AGENCY FOR PROGRAM ASSISTANCE
WHEREAS, the Environmental Protection Agency has funds
available to provide program assistance for environmental
wetlands identification and mapping; and
WHEREAS, the Advance Identification of Wetlands Program
(ADID) is a joint effort of the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers; and
WHEREAS, in recognition of the value of Florida Keys
wetlands, and in response to the significant amount of
development activities ongoing in these wetlands, the Monroe
County Board of Commissioners endorsed the concept of a
Florida Keys ADID on March 12, 1991; and
WHEREAS, the funds available are up to $50,000.00 with
a 5% match; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida that:
1. The Mayor of the Commission authorizes the County
Administrator to submit an application for grant funds
to the Environmental Protection Agency to assist in the
implementation of a Florida Keys ADID program, and that
2. This resolution shall become effective
immediately upon adoption by the Commission and the
execution by the Presiding Officer and Clerk.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners
of Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said
Board held on the 25th day of June , A.D. 1991.
