THE MAYOR TO SIGN ON BEHALF OF MONROE COUNTY AN
AGREEMENT FOR DEED WITH HERBERT T. PONTIN AND
CHRISTINE W. PONTIN CONCERNING PROPERTY ON BIG
PINE KEY, AND AUTHORIZING PAYMENT IN THE AMOUNT
OF $3500 IN EXCHANGE FOR THE WARRANTY DEED
THEREFOR.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows:
1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to sign and execute on
behalf of Monroe County an Agreement for Deed with Herbert T.
Pontin and Christine W. Pontin, a copy of same being attached
hereto, concerning property on Big Pine Key.
2. The Board hereby authorizes payment to Mr. and Mrs
Pontin in the amount of $3500 in exchange for the Warranty Deed
concerning said property, a copy of same being attached hereto.
3. The Clerk of the Board is hereby directed to record
said Warranty Deed in the official records of Monroe County.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the _l!h _ day of August , A.D. 1991.

AGREEMENT FOR DEED

THIS AGREEMENT, made on the
.... day of
1991, between the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County
(hereinafter County), a political subdivision of the State of
Florida, and HERBERT T. PONTIN and CHRISTINE W. PONTIN (hereinaf-
ter Grantors), state:
1. Grantors, in consideration of the agreement of County
contained below, sells and donates and agrees to convey to Monroe
County, its successors and assigns, by a warranty deed, accom-
panied by an abstract evidencing good title in Grantors as of the
20th day of March, 1990, upon the prompt and full performance by
County of its part of this agreement, the tract of land lying and
being in the County of Monroe County, State of Florida, described
in Exhibit A, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by
reference.
2. Prior to said conveyance, Grantors shall redeem any
outstanding tax deeds on the property described in Exhibit A or
otherwise insure that good and marketable title is conveyed to
County pursuant to this agreement.
3. County, in consideration of the premises, agrees to pay
Grantors, at the office of the Clerk of Court, located in the
Courthouse at Key West, Florida, for the purchase price of the
premises being purchased, the sum of Three Thousand Five Hundred
($3500) Dollars, in the form of a check, issucci upon the account
of the County on the date that a properly executed deed is
received by County pursuant to this agreement.
WITNESS the hands and seals of the parties to this agreement
on the date first above written.

Both parcels of land being in a portion of Gov't lots 1 and 2,
Section 27, Township 66 South, Range 29 East, on Big Pine Key,
Monroe County, Florida and more particularly described as
follows:
DONATED PROPERTY:
Commencing at the intersection of the East line of Gov't lot 1,
Section 27, T.66S., R.29E., and the Southerly R/W line of U.S.
Highway One, bear south, parallel to the East1ine of Gov't lots 1
and 2, for a distance of 327.12 feet to a point, also to be known
as the #1 POINT OF BEGINNING of the parcel herein described;
continue bearing south for a distance of 1065.63 feet to a point;
thence bear west, parallel to the North line of Cahill Property
in the Official Record book 44, page 396 and 397, a distance of
608.00 feet to a point; thence bear north 25.00 feet to a point;
thence bear east a distance of 603.00 feet to a point; thence
bear north a distance of 1040.63 feet to a point; thence bear
east a distance of 5.00 feet back to the #1 POINT OF BEGINNING.
Containing 20,403 sq. ft. more or less.
PURCHASED PROPERTY:

the real property located on Bie Pine Key, in Honroe Coun;:)',
Florida, more particularly described in Exhibit A attached hereto
ana incorporated herein by reference; and
Monroe County has proper public needs which may be provided
by use of said property; and
The Board of County Commissioners or Eonroe County has
determined tnat it is beneficial to ;:he County to accept donation
of a portion of the property and to pay the sum of '!'hirty-fivE.'
Hundred ($35C 0) Dollars for the remainder of the property, cS.S
clearly distinguished in Exhibit A; and
In order to contribute to the betterment aue development of
the neighborhood surrounding the property and Monroe County, and
to enhance the safety of users of the right-of-way adjacent to
said property, Herbert T. Pontio and ChriGtine w. Pontin desire
to give and donate the property designated on Exhibit A a~
donated property and to sell the property designatE~ cr Exhibit A
as purchased property to Monroe County.
