RESOLUTION NO. 275-1991
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSION-
ERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, REQUESTING THE
FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION TO PROVIDE AN
OFFICIAL DETERMINATION OF ADEQUATE SCHOOL
CLASSROOM CAPACITY IN MONROE COUNTY PURSUANT
TO SECTION 9.5-291, ET SEQ., MONROE COUNTY
LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS
WHEREAS,
Section
9.5-291
of
the
Monroe County Land
Development Regulations requires that all proposed development be
served by adequate public or private facilities; and
WHEREAS,
Section
9.5-292(a)(4) of the Land Development
Regulations specifically requires adequate
school
classroom
capacity to accommodate all school-age children to be generated
by the proposed development; and
WHEREAS, Monroe County's assessment of
adequate
school
classroom capacity has heretofore been based on the Florida
Department of Education's recommended capacities for each school,
as published in the Florida Inventory of School Houses; and

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA that the Florida Department of Education, in
consonance with the Monroe County District School Board and the
Department of Community Affairs, is hereby requested to provide
an official determination of adequate school classroom capacity
as to safety and efficiency in Monroe County, pursuant to Section
9.5-291 et seq., Monroe County Land Development Regulations.
The Clerk of the Board is hereby directed to forward a
certified copy of this resolution to the Florida Department of
Community Affairs.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the 21st day of August, 1991.
