A~ESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
O~~MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, FIXING AND DELINEATING

WHEREAS it is necessary and required by law to change the
present boundaries of County Commissioners' Districts in Monroe
County, Florida, and establish new County Commissioners'
Districts in Monroe Count, Florida, as per the requirements of
Article 8, Subsection 1 (e), of the Constitution of the State of
Florida, and Florida Statutes Chapter 124, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the County Commissioners' Districts
in Monroe County, Florida, shall be established as follows and
shall be designated numerically as is stated hereinafter:
Section 1.

District No. 3 of the County Commission shall
comprise a portion of the City of Key West, and an unincorporated
area of the County, and shall be more particularly described as
follows:
That area within the City of Key West more particularly
described as follows:
Commencing on the centerline of Whitehead Street
projected into the Atlantic Ocean running in a
northerly direction to the point where it intersects
with the centerline of Louisa Street thence running
westerly along the centerline of Louisa Street to the
point where it intersects with the centerline of Thomas
Street thence running northerly along the centerline of
of Thomas Street to the point where it intersects with
the centerline of Amelia Street thence running westerly
along the centerline of Amelia Street to the point where
it intersects with the centerline of Fort Street thence
running northerly along the centerline of Fort Street
to the point where it intersects with the centerline of
Angela Street thence running easterly along the
centerline of Angela Street to the point where it
intersects with centerline of Duval Street thence
running southerly along the centerline of Duval Street
to the point where it intersects with the centerline of
United Street thence running easterly along the
centerline of United Street to the point where it
intersects with the centerline of White Street thence
running southerly along the centerline of White Street
to the point where it intersects with the centerline of
Flagler Street thence running generally easterly along
the centerline of Flagler Street to the point where it
intersects with the centerline of 14th Street thence
running northerly along the centerline of 14th Street
projected to the waters of the Gulf of Mexico thence
running generally westerly along the shoreline of the
Gulf Of Mexico to the point where it intersects with a
line projected north from the centerline of Duval
Street thence running generally southerly along the
shoreline of the Gulf of Mexico to the point where the
shoreline of the Atlantic Ocean commences thence
running generally easterly along the shoreline of the
Atlantic Ocean to the point of beginning.
Also that portion of the territory of Monroe County
more particularly known as the Dry Tortugas.
Section 2.

comprise a portion of the City of Key West and the unincorporated
area of Monroe County and shall be more particularly described as
follows:
Commencing with the proj ection of the centerline of
Whitehead Street into the Atlantic Ocean and running in
a northerly direction to the point where it intersects
the centerline of Louisa Street thence running westerly
along the centerline of Louisa Street to the point
where it intersects with the centerline of Thomas
Street thence running northerly along the centerline of
Thomas Street until it intersects the centerline of
Amelia Street thence running westerly along the
centerline of Amelia Street until it intersects the
centerline of Fort Street and thence running northerly
along the centerline of Fort Street until it intersects
with the centerline of Angela Street thence running
easterly along the centerline of Angela Street until it
intersects with the centerline of Duval Street and
thence running southerly along the centerline of Duval
Street until it intersects the centerline of United
Street thence running easterly along the centerline of
United Street until it intersects with the centerline
of White Street thence running southerly along the
centerline of White Street until it intersects with
the centerline of Flagler Street thence running
generally easterly along the centerline of Flagler
Street to the intersection of the centerline of 14th
Street thence running northerly along the centerline of
14th Street proj ected to the waters of the Gulf of
Mexico thence running generally easterly along the
shoreline of the Gulf of Mexico to the point where the
shoreline of the Cow Key channel commences thence
running generally southerly along the shoreline of the
Cow Key channel to the point where the shoreline of the
Atlantic Ocean commences thence running generally
westerly along the shoreline of the Atlantic Ocean to
the point of beginning.
Also that portion of the territory of Monroe County not
included in District No. 3 lying west of the east end
of Bay Point, U.S. Highway No.1.
Section 3.

District No. 2 of the County Commission shall
comprise the following more particularly described territory of
Monroe County:
All of the territory of Monroe County lying from the east end of
Bay Point, US Highway No.1, to a line commencing on the center
line of the 74th Street projected to the waters of the Atlantic
Ocean thence along said projected centerline to where it
intersects the center line of U. S. Highway No. 1 thence at an
angle along the centerline of U.S. Highway No. 1 in a westerly
direction to where it intersects the center line of Aviation
Boulevard thence at an angle along the centerline of Aviation
Boulevard to where it intersects the centerline of Harbor Drive
thence at right angles along the centerline of Harbor Drive
projected to the waters of the Bay.
Section 4.

District No. 4 of the County Commission shall
comprise the following more particularly described territory of
Monroe County:
All of the territory of Monroe County lying east of a line
commencing on the center line of the 74th Street projected to the
waters of the Atlantic Ocean thence along said projected
centerline to where it intersects the center line of U.S. Highway
No. 1 thence at an angle along the centerline of U.S. Highway No.
1 in a westerly direction to where it intersects the centerline
of Aviation Boulevard thence at an angle along the centerline of
Aviation Boulevard to where it intersects the centerline of
Harbor Drive thence at right angles along the centerline of
Harbor Drive projected to the waters of the Bay, east to
Tavernier Creek,
Section 5.
District No. 5 of the County Commission shall
comprise the following more particularly described territory of
Monroe County:
All of the territory of Monroe County lying from Tavernier Creek
east to the County line and Garden Cove South to the Atlantic
Ocean plus the area known as the Florida mainland and Everglades.
Section 6.
This resolution shall be entered into the
minutes of the Board of County Commissioners and, as per
Sec.124.02, Fla. Stat. (1990 Supp.), published once each week for
four weeks in a newspaper published in Monroe County.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Monroe County, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Board held
on the ~ day of ~~vember, 1991.

east end of Bay Point, US Highway No.1, to a line
commencing on the center line of the 74th Street
proj ected to the waters of the Atlantic Ocean thence

the center line of U.S. Highway No. 1 thence at an
angle along the centerline of U.S. Highway No. 1 in a
westerly direction to where it intersects the center
line of Aviation Boulevard thence at an angle along the
centerline of Aviation Boulevard to where it intersects
the centerline of Harbor Drive thence at right angles
along the centerline of Harbor Drive projected to the
waters of the Bay. .

westerly direction to where it intersects the

intersects the centerline of Harbor Drive thence at
right angles along the centerline of Harbor Drive
projected to the waters of the Bay, east to Tavernier
Creek.
