RESOLUTION NO. 087 -2002
A RESOLUnON OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA TRANSFERRING $492,332 OTHERWISE
PAYABLE TO THE CITY OF MARATHON, FROM MONROE COUNTY'S
GENERAL PURPOSE MSTU TO THE SOLID WASTE FUND AS A SET-OFF
AGAINST THE OVER $1,000,000 OWED BY THE CITY FOR SOLID
WASTE TRANSFER SERVICES FURNISHED BY THE COUNTY.

WHEREAS, the City of Marathon is in arrears to the County for over
$1,000,000 for solid waste transfer services;
WHEREAS, in an agreement dated May 16, 2001 the County agreed with the
City of Marathon, among other things, to transfer $492,332 from the County's
general purpose MSTU fund to Marathon for planning projects;
WHEREAS, the County has determined to set-off the $492,322 from the
amount the City of Marathon owes the County for solid waste transfer services;
now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The sum of $492,332 is hereby transferred from the general purpose
MSTU fund to the solid waste fund.
Section 2. The sum transferred is no longer appropriated for payment to the City
of Marathon for growth management projects pursuant to paragraph 2( d) of the County
and City's May 16, 2001 Memorandum of Understanding. The sum is, instead, a set-off
and partial payment for the solid waste transfer services furnished by the County to the
City of Marathon.
