RESOLUTION NO. 114 -2002
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY. FLORIDA REQUESTING THAT THE FLORIDA
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION DECLARE ALBURY BOULEVARD IN
TAVERNIER SURPLUS PROPERTY AND TRANSFER THE SAME TO MONROE
COUNTY FOR INCORPORATION INTO OLD SETTLERS' PARK
WHEREAS. Albury Boulevard in Tavernier functions only to provide additional access to Old
Settlers' Park, which access is not needed; and
WHEREAS. the land occupied by Albury Boulevard would be more useful to the public if it
were incorporated into an expanded Old Settlers' Park; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY. FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Florida Department of Transportation is hereby requested to declare
Albury Boulevard in Tavernier, Monroe County, Florida as surplus property and transfer ownership
of the land occupied by Albury Boulevard to Monroe County for incorporation into a public park
(Old Settlers' Park).
Section 2. The Mayor is authorized to execute, on behalf of the County Commission, any
documents needed to effectuate the transfer of Albury Boulevard to Monroe County.
Section 3. The Public Works Director is directed to send certified copies of this
Resolution to the officials within the Department of Transportation whose con~~nt is n~ess~
for the transfer of Albury Boulevard to Monroe County. ~ ~ ~ r=
