Dear Sir,
After extensive phone calls and talking with numerous residents of Port Largo,
the Port Largo Residential Property Owners Association supports the UKAA
request to extend lighting of the community park until 11:00 as required by the
Uttle League Playoff rules for rain delay or other unforeseen drcumstances that
would constitute an extended hours play beyond normal closing time. Extended
hours would be the exception, not the normal rule, and would only occur under
extreme circumstances.
Back9round
The UKAA is bidding to host the District 8 Uttle League Post Season Playoffs at
the Key Largo Community Park for the first 3 weeks of July. The Uttle League
requires the hosting park. to have lighting available until 11:00pm In case of a
rain delay or other emergency for extended hours play. Normally, the game will
be over by 9:00pm. The extended hours play is not normally, used and would
only happen in case of a delay. The UKAA has requested this change ONLY for
the Playoffs the first 3 weeks of July, and not for any other time during the year.
