A RESOLUTION OF THE MONROE COUNTY BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS APPOINTING AN ELECTED
OFFICIAL TO THE AFFORDABLE HOUSING ADVISORY
COMMITTEE PURSUANT TO F.S. SECTION 420.9076
WHEREAS, Monroe County participates in the State Housing Initiatives Partnership Program
(SHIP) and is a recipient of funding for its affordable housing programs and activities; and
WHEREAS, Monroe County, as a participant in SHIP, has developed and implements a local
housing assistance plan (LHAP) created to increase the availability of affordable housing to very low.
low and moderate income persons, essential services personnel, and those with special needs; and
WHEREAS, recent statutory changes in F.S. Section 420.9076. requires one (I) appointed
Elected Official to serve on the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee(AHAC): and
WHEREAS, the appointed Elected Official shall serve for an initial term of a length specified
by the BOCC: and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF MONROE COUNTY,FLORIDA:
Section I. The Board appoints Commissioner Craig Cates . as the Elected Official to
serve on the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee.
Section 2. The Elected Official appointed to this Committee shall be nominated and approved by the
Board. The initial terms shall be as specified above. The AHAC shall meet at the request of the BOCC
or when required by regulations established by the County Code.

at a regular meeting of the Board held on the 17`" day of February,2021.
